People have told me that surfing is really fun to try. It is supposedly like being on top of the world without a single care. Feeling the wind in your face and the water on your body is very exhilarating. It is easy to learn if you want to learn it. It takes months to learn some of the skills, but it takes much practice to get it right except if you are a fast learner. Some people are born to do this. It's in their blood. Others have the feel for it and want to see what it's like.

A surfer will tell you that you will see different colors in the water when you are riding the waves and when you go through it. The feel of the water between your fingers is so smooth, and it feels so good to touch. Have you ever been to a surfing contest? It is really neat with the way they shoot the curl, and it looks like they're flying really fast on the water.

Thousands of people do this every year. They love to catch the waves and ride the big one. There are people to help you learn how to surf and how to stay on your board. Don't fall off your board by holding your feet in place. They will also teach you how to go back and forth on it for balance and how to have fun when learning.

But you have to watch some places because it can be surrounded with rocks that are sticking up in the water, and it can kill you. You have to watch the way your board is going on the beaches like that. You also have to watch out for seaweed because it can wrap around your body or your board, and it will cause you to drown.

It's just like a net that we use to catch fish in, but a little different in the sense that it pulls you down into the weed and traps you until you or someone cuts it. You also have to watch out for people. You never know where they are at or where they are swimming. Your board must be waxed and cleaned each time you are in the water because it will ride better and it won't warp on you or crack. Take it easy and have loads of fun on the water. Be careful for you and the other people surfing with you and the others swimming in the same area as you.
