There have been many instances where people have told me that they have a problem with their dog going to the bathroom in their homes. This especially becomes bad if you have carpet and he has chosen a spot that he likes which also includes carpet. This is very difficult to clean up and even if you cleaned it the smell is something that goes everywhere. It stays in the carpet and is one of the hardest things to remove. The bad thing is that most people that are faced with this problem often think that the animal is responsible for it and they haven’t done anything to cause this problem. They would essentially be very wrong. All behavior whether they be good or bad start with you even if you don’t realize you had anything to do with it. This is one of those times when you need to step back and think about what it is that you have been doing that could have caused this. Now you might be reading this and wondering what exactly a walk is going to do for you but let’s think about it for a minute and follow an example. When you go out you need to make sure that your pet doesn’t walk in front of you and drag you around. You need to remember that you are walking him and not the other way around. If he has a problem where he likes to pull make sure you hold the leash with two hands and always make sure you make him walk next to you. You also need to practice saying to yourself that you are the leader and he is not and that way even if you don’t notice it you will begin to exude a leader mentality that your pet will respond to.

He can sense things like this and he will start to cooperate more and more if you are persistent and always make sure you think that way. If your pet does something that is not appropriate or is something you don’t approve of such as trying to pull you, you need to make sure that you stop him and correct that behavior because if you don’t it will make him think that it is ok. Remember that a pack leader does not allow things that he doesn’t like. He will correct the problem by letting his pack know that he doesn’t like it.

That is what you also need to do in order to have your pet see you as the leader and not disobey you. By doing this you will notice that the pooping in your home will slowly start especially when it is corrected. Always let him know that you are the pack leader and he is not.
