If you were to live a happy and meaningful life, you have to deal with your fear. But if you do not know what kinds of fear you are dealing with, you might be addressing them in the wrong way. As such, you have to identify the sources of your fear. These may have been rooted in some painful experiences when you were young but you have never gotten rid of them. When you name your fears, they begin to lose their power on you and you embark on your way to freedom.
One of these fears concerns your economic well-being. You may be afraid of poverty if you feel that you cannot give up your high paying but high-risk job. Perhaps this very fear is driving you like a relentless master to work, work, and work all week long, and even during weekends. Because of this fear, you also fail to spend meaningful time with your loved ones.
Another fear that may be lurking in your heart is the fear of criticism, which might be born out of an attitude of seeking approval from other people. If you fear criticism, then you also inhibit your growth because these very criticisms may point out areas of weakness in yourself that you fail to see. When people point these things out, don't cringe. Instead, you should take a look at their validity and accept the things that could even improve you.
Your health may also be a source of anxiety for you. If you do, you might just visit your doctor too often, and go to the gym to develop your fitness. However, these strategies may simply be covering up a more serious malady in your emotional and spiritual life. Check your stress levels. It is possible that you are pushing yourself too hard in achieving the things that other people are expecting you to deliver. Life is simple and you have a choice to keep it that way.
Our society seems to be obsessed with youth to the point that beauty products and other youth-enhancing products are raking in millions of profits around the world. If you fall prey to this thinking, you might develop an unhealthy fear of old age. Focus on what is truly important. Old age may come but if you live your life fully, it would be a reason to celebrate instead of fear.
These fears inhibit you to achieve your full potentials and you have to deal with them in order to discover your purpose and start living your life as you should be.
